Lumeno Lambda S LED magnifier desk lamp with 3 dioptres, continuously dimmable with memory function, white with green colour edge.

A practical helper for every desk

The Lumeno Lambda S magnifier desk lamp fits on any desk and is ideal for detailed work at home, in the workshop or at the workplace. The clean design of the magnifier lamp is complemented by a coloured ring on the lamp head, making the magnifier lamp an attractive yet practical helper. This magnifier lamp can also be used as a desk lamp, especially if you only want to use the magnifier function occasionally.

The magnifier lamp stands on a stable base that offers a small storage area for e.g. paper clips, screws or other items. The arm mechanism allows flexible positioning of the lamp head to suit your individual needs. The lamp arm can be tilted vertically downwards. In addition, the lamp head can be swivelled horizontally, rotated by 340° and tilted vertically or set upright.

Continuously adjustable brightness with memory function

The SMD LEDs are arranged in a circle around the 100 mm lens and provide even illumination of the work area. Switching on and off is done via an easily accessible touch sensor on the lamp base. Brightness is regulated via two separate sensors located right next to it. By touching the corresponding sensor, the brightness can be continuously adjusted brighter or darker. Thanks to the memory function, the lamp returns to the last set brightness when switched back on.

Ideal magnification for home and hobby

The Lambda S magnifier lamp is equipped with a glass lens with a 100 mm diameter. With a magnification of 3 dioptres (1.75x) and a working distance of 33 cm, the magnifier is ideal for most handicraft and hobby work as well as a reading aid. The lens shows a largely undistorted image across almost the entire area and offers a high depth of field.

The lens cover protects the lens from dust, dirt and sunlight (risk of the burning-glass effect) when not in use. A damaged lens can be replaced easily and without tools in just a few steps.

Frequently asked questions

Which dioptre strength is right for me?

For most tasks a 3-dioptre lens (1.75x magnification) is the best choice – it gives you plenty of working distance and a large field of view. Only go for 5 or 8 dioptres if you need to see very fine detail: the stronger the lens, the smaller the field of view and working distance become.

Can I replace the LEDs myself?

The LEDs are permanently installed and rated for around 25,000 operating hours – they are not designed to be swapped like a light bulb. Should anything fail nonetheless, our service department will help with repairs and spare parts.

Which power supply fits my magnifying lamp?

What matters is the model designation and generation (e.g. MK II or MK III) on the type plate – identical model numbers can use different power supplies depending on the generation. You will find matching replacement power supplies in our accessories; if in doubt, our service team can identify yours quickly from a photo of the type plate.

How do I clean the lens properly?

Use a soft, lint-free cloth – slightly dampened with mild glass cleaner for heavier soiling. Avoid abrasives and aggressive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface.

How is the lamp mounted – and is a stand included?

Our articulated-arm magnifying lamps come with a table clamp. A rolling or table stand can simply be selected as a set variant on the product page. Wall brackets and other holders are available as accessories.

Are spare parts available for older models too?

Yes. We stock lenses, power supplies and holders as spare parts – often even for series that have not been sold for years. Our own service department repairs your lamp if needed or supplies the right part.

Can the lamp stand in direct sunlight?

Please not uncovered: the magnifying lens focuses direct sunlight like a burning glass – this can ignite surfaces. Cover the lens or swivel it out of the sun if your workplace is by a window.

Do I keep my glasses on while working?

Yes – work with your usual vision correction. Glasses and lens act together: if you already wear strong reading glasses, 3 dioptres is usually the better choice, because too much combined magnification shrinks the field of view and working distance and becomes tiring.

How much does the lamp actually magnify – and how close do I need to get?

3 dioptres equal 1.75x magnification at around 33 cm from the object, 5 dioptres 2.25x at about 20 cm, 8 dioptres 2.75x at about 12.5 cm. 8 dioptres is the strongest level in our range and magnifies very selectively – typical for tasks like SMD soldering.

Does working with the magnifier strain the eyes?

Chosen correctly, it is the opposite: the lens takes close-up work off your eyes, and the flicker-free daylight white supports relaxed vision. Strain almost always comes from choosing too much magnification – small field of view, short distance. Then go one level weaker and let your gaze wander into the distance now and then.

Can I use the lamp abroad, e.g. in the USA?

Within the EU: no problem. Our lamps are not designed for the 110 V grid (USA) – we advise against running them via travel adapters. For use outside Europe, please ask our service team first.

What language is the user manual in – is it available in English or French?

The manual comes with the lamp and is available as a PDF here on the product page under “Downloads & documentation”. For many models further language versions exist – such as English or French – as well as declarations of conformity: our service team will gladly send them on request.
